Optical Emission Spectrometer

All elements in a sample emit light simultaneously when the sample is the subject to high voltage using counter electrode. Since there are many elements in alloy, each element has its own set of characteristics wavelengths and when this light is focused on holographic grating the light broken into its component wavelengths, which are in turn focused on a microchip consisting thousands of light sensitive diodes, known as CCD or Charge Coupled Device. Based on concept of intensity and concentration, element curve generated and by the CRM’s also known as primary standards the system is calibrated. The result shown in weight percentage basis.
